**Provisions to Needy families**
1/06/2020 to 5/06/2020
MeriOrSe reached out to 180 families over the past few days with Groceries.
AP Residential schools had some provisions left over and the district administration had asked us if we can make a better use of those. The concerned officer is really honest and had told us to let him know if anyone asks for money whilst these are supplied to us.
Don’t have much experiences to share as most of the migrants had left and these are local poor people slowly trying to get back into life. It was a lot of physical work arranging transportation, packing all the parcels and driving to all the corners but it all paid off with a few smiles from the families and good byes from kids.
Going forward thinking of focusing more on creating awareness about hygiene and keeping public places clean and safe.

**Migrants Saga**
These migrant workers from Assam got stuck with no work.Leftover by the contractor and the company who engaged them in work,Unable to speak the local language and struggling to get little help understanding the process of travel they had to undergo a lot of panic. MeriOrSe reached out to them with not only providing Groceries, but also dealing with the house owner to let them stay and with company to pay their remaining wages and also going around all the district offices to finally arrange their travel home in the special trains arranged. The whole of this process rather a saga took a few good weeks but ended in a happy note with them finally leaving to their home in Assam on the train.
**Ration To needy Brahmins**
06/05/2020 Rajahmundry & Pitapuram
With no pilgrims for a couple of months these brahmins who make a daily living offering rituals at Godavari and Pitapuram suffered to meet day to day needs as well. MeriOrSe reached out to 40 of them in Pitapurams and around 50 of them in Rajahmundry with Provisions and Vegetables.

**Activity : Ration to migrant workers from Assam**
Meriorse Over the past 2-3 days
Even though the plan was to take a little halt. That didn’t really stop there.
- Provided ration to 12 muslim migrant workers from Assam ( didn’t take their pic as they weren’t up for pics).
Alongside helping an old orphan christian man now and then with his needs. Planning to reach out to poor brahmins in Pitapuram or Rajahmundry too who are left with no income. - Continued the awareness activity with supply of Gloves to those who come in contact with public frequently.
- And food distribution the other day.

10 th Day
One remarkable task achieved today is to be able to manage the crowd to maintain the social distance and it all went smooth. It’s been 10 days for now and it doesn’t feel so.
Taking a little break from tomorrow for food distribution. With of view of starting again if the lockdown continues again or to address any further need that arises in between.

We decided to drive the rural route again today. After picking up the food we made our way to hand over the lunch to the little huts and homeless people we came across the other day. Handed over the sanitizers to PHC Doctors in the end. One thing that moved us a lot is the plight of sewage cleaners.I wonder what good any government scheme is if none of those wishy washy ad schemes do no good to people risking their health and working under inhumane conditions just to clear the waste created by the society and help us remain clean while embracing all the junk on to them.
This is about Day 9

Day 8 went rather quick. In contrast to the long rural drives for the past few days, today’s distribution was in the town.Long queues continue to grow but they are all getting help from someone or the other and that’s a good sign.

All eyes on that little packet of food and an expression of gratitude from the little one. This is it to sum up the Day 7 !

Day 6 catered the needs of homeless people, migrant labours, sanitary workers, women at old age home and the Doctors.
A press reporter (from Andhra prabha) guided us in finding the needy people. We drove to a couple of rural villages Karapa and Nadakuduru and what we found was really needy people and a few in starving condition. After stopping at each one of them we went out to sanitary workers area and finally to Primary health centre.
It was a nice opportunity to offer lunch to Doctors in the end at a village PHC and thank them for their selfless service.
On the next trip to that village planning to provide sanitizers asked by the staff doctors.

Day 5
Today’s distribution started with Thalassemia children at Redcross, then at a slum and to the people on roads.
For those who are not aware Thalassemia is a rare condition in Kids where they need blood transfusion every month for them to survive.
It was sad to see those innocent kids. Not sure if many understand what is happening to them or the fact that they don’t even live up to 30.
As part of monthly activity want to include this as well – to offer food on the day of transfusion to these kids & toys if possible.

Day 4 has been really satisfactory. Instead of a particular spot we distributed around a few areas amongst rural migrant huts, hungry old people on the roads and a few left over packets asked by police for drivers stuck with no food today.
Early in the morning was at another raithu bazar offering gloves and masks to veg vendors, municipal workers and police.
Not that veg vendors can’t afford to buy gloves, but none of them had any gloves until we gave and are also not aware of the imporatance of wearing as they get more in contact with all sorts of people in exchange of veg and money.Bare hands are risk to them as well as to public.
Of all those who had food 2 people made our day. One was a blind man who said that they he is so thankful for offering food in times of need and another lone old lady walking on the road who didn’t ask food until we offered and hungrily had it right there.
All the activity from 7:30 am to 1:30 pm made it all worth it.

Day3 MeriOrSe
Managed to make it a bit more organized today with distance margins & a little stool to hand over the items & to avoid any contact. The count went up and 100 people had food.

MeriOrSe Today
Activity 1-
The day started at 4:30 in the morning to catchup with 100+ sanitary workers to provide them with Gloves & Masks. They were happy to receive those from us but I’ve told them that it is their basic need and should demand the panchayat office for those in general.
Activity 2
Following that it was distribution at Rythu Bazar to Police and vegetable vendors as they are more prone to hand touch ( none were wearing gloves until we gave them).Even police were eager to get those gloves from us. One nice policeman helped us all through.
Activity 3
Then it was offering food to needy. That aged couple in the pics cooked it all for today as their contribution and I helped in packing.
Managed to get social distance maintained today.

Friends, MeriOrSe activity is started from today. I’d like to keep you posted regularly but PLEASE don’t send any appreciations because the situation out there is bad .And I see many hungry eyes eagerly looking for any passing by vehicle for food.😔
I was doubtful if those 50 meals would be utilized but just in a matter of 5 minutues all those were taken away.
In the end an old lady asked to help even if there is a single meal left and we were left with none. I still am feeling so sad as I could still see her asking face 😔
Planning to increase the count. I’ll keep you posted. Stay safe.
