****Making Thalassemia Ward at Red Cross lively ****
MeriOrSe has put murals at Red Cross Thalassemia Ward.Rama and Rajkumar were helpful in getting these on to the walls.
Thalassemia children need blood transplanted every month in order to survive, even then they live up to 35 years only. All day long during transplantation Children lie on bed looking at empty walls.
So thought of putting Murals to cheer up those kids and Red Cross mentioned that those children were all happy looking at the murals.
Glad that MeriOrSe made them smile.
****Iron Supplements–Pregnant Women ****

Iron supplement syrups to Aneamic pregnant Ladies at Seethanagaram.
Government gives tablets but they’re not enough and syrups are more effective.
Planning to do this every month for a few months.
Felt glad to have reached out to them.
****Medical Aid – Materialized ****
Tribal areas are a real beauty with innocent people, splendid nature and air of freshness everywhere.
However, lack of proper personal hygiene and less intake of nutritious food leads to decreased body resistance to fight against infections leading to Skin diseases. Mostly they suffer from communicable diseases. Non communicable diseases (ncd) like BP,sugar are rare.
No accessibility to clinics treating skin infections, Non availability of related medicines at hospitals makes their condition worse.
We’ve been trying for a while to find a support to provide medical aid and finally it is materialized and have come in to use for them.
***** A Good Doctor, Poor People & Policies *****
Ganapathi is a young doctor who’s given up his profession to join a charity. He is one of those Doctors who is for true service devoid of any commercial goals out of his qualification.
Today we arranged a medical camp at a couple of places and Dr Ganapathi and his friend Vamsi spent a full day to serve. One of the places is where poor people come to get their daily meal from a trust and the other one at a Orphanage.
Looking at these people you will know for sure that these are the ones in real need of help. Really poor, old, unhealthy, malnourished and many a times ignored.
During the medical camp a lady approached us. She was hit and run by a car and has her hip fractured. She went to Government hospital where she was demanded for money and was left untreated as she neither has money or an Aadhar card.
She doesn’t even have a home where does the identity card come from? Or the money to bribe the Government hospital staff who asked for money.
If the Government policies or the political schemes don’t come in use for people like her who are in real need, how are these policies or schemes good for any society?
Don’t know what’s next for her but it was really sad to leave her helpless and her plight remained in my mind the whole day.
